BarleyBean (South Austin)

I was in Austin for an appointment and decided to look for a place to do some work. I drove by this shop and decided to stop in. It's got a VERY Austin vibe. It's about as hipster as a place can be. That's not a bad thing though. The customer service was excellent. The person who served me at the front was very kind and offered me some great recommendations. There were several people in the shop getting work done. It's comfortable and fairly quiet. That being said, it's on the expensive side, as you would expect, but the food was great.

Coffee: My latte was good. High quality and just the right amount of sweetness.

Food: They have lots of breakfast and lunch options. I had the "classic club" panini. It may be "classic" but it definitely wasn't normal. It was so, so delicious. I got chips with it, but you can also choose from pasta salad or mac and cheese.

Privacy: I found a little nook and felt like I had reasonable privacy for a coffee shop.

Public Restroom: They do have a clean restroom.

Available seating: I got there a little before noon and it was fairly busy. I was still able to find a seat though. By 12:30, it was pretty empty. They have an outdoor seating area as well.

Outlets: I had a hard time getting a seat next to an outlet, but they are available throughout the shop.

WiFi: Good wifi. Both 2.4 and 5 ghz.

Noise Level: Quiet music and a bit of chatting going on.

This is a solid stop if you're in south Austin. I'll probably go back when I'm in the area.
