(Closed :( )Kora Kora Veramendi

I just drove by this week and this location is closed. I'm pretty dang sad about it honestly. I hope another coffee shop goes in there.

Kora Kora's second location in the new Veramendi neighborhood is a brand new store with classic, hip coffee shop vibes. It has good seating both indoor and outdoor. The staff is friendly and patient. There are some good food options, and the coffee is delicious. I suspect that as Vermendi grows, this location will become very busy, but for right now, it's never too crowded (especially in the afternoon). It's an excellent place to pull out the laptop and dig in for a few hours of work.

Update: Sep. 6, 2024 There is a new breakfast place 2 doors down from Kora Kora. It doesn't look like a great place for remote work, I may review it later, but it has food if you're hungry. I didn't see any specialty drinks so I got a pistachio latte today. It was good, but I love it when they do a creative drink here. Hopefully I'll see one soon.

Coffee: They have good quality coffee with lots of options. There are usually a few seasonal specialty options that are fun to try. If you like your lattes on the less sweet side, this is a good place for you. They also have several excellent matcha drinks along with all of the regular options you get at a coffee shop.

Food: There are muffins and other pastries available. They also have breakfast tacos from Los Gallos who make some of the best breakfast tacos in the city. There aren't any specific lunch options, but if they still have breakfast tacos, those will hit the spot for lunch as well.

Privacy: There's a nice little private corner that's perfectly set up for people getting work done. It's a great spot to work with fewer distractions. If you can't get that spot, there are a few other small tables around with the normal coffee shop privacy.

Restroom: They share a restroom with the Howard Payne branch campus next door. It's just down the hall. It's a normal public restroom. It's clean and easy to get to once you find it.

Available seating: In the morning, like with most coffee shops, the seating can be a bit limited, but as the day goes on, there's plenty of seating. They do have an outside seating area across from the neighborhood pool. It's great when the weather is nice, but shade there is limited so when the sun is out it gets quite uncomfortable.  They do have a lot of comfy seating available (soft couches and chairs) if that's your thing.

Outlets: There are some outlets scattered throughout. If you get to sit in the worker's nook, there's an outlet and charging port with USB access and several charging cords. Other than that, it's a bit hit or miss if you'll be next to an outlet.

WiFi: Free WiFi that works well.

Noise Level: They have music playing at a medium loud level and there's the constant background chatter of a coffee shop. It's perfect if you like some background noise while you work like me.
