About me and this blog
My name is Chris Dayley and I'm a college English professor at Texas State University. I moved to New Braunfels 4 years ago with my wife and 4 kids.
As a college professor, I don't have a regular 8-5 schedule. In fact, I only need to go into the university when I have a meeting or I'm teaching a class. The majority of my work is done from my laptop.
About a year into my new job as a professor, I started to hate being at home all the time. I found it difficult to be productive, and it was just plain boring. Because of this, I began seeking out public places where I could work.
I've spent a couple of years now seeking out these remote working spots and I want to share the places I've discovered, and the places I have yet to discover, with you. Each blog post I write will review a place to work remotely. For each place, I'll review the available food/drinks, crowd/noise level, seating comfort, wifi, available outlets, and anything else that may be of interest to remote workers.
I will mainly focus on the New Braunfels Texas area, but I will occasionally include surrounding areas. If you have a spot you want me to check out, please let me know.
Hope to see you at the "office."
- Chris
